Okay, this is a multi-topic thread.
First off, HIDENORI where the fuck are you?! I've been leaving tons of messages at YM, and you haven't replied. Tapos kahit online ka, you don't PM back. WTF...? I've even tried calling a few days back dyan sa PC shop, pero babae yung nasagot kaya binababa ko nalang. Are you still working there? What's up with you?
Secondly, I've seen The Da Vinci Code last Friday. And it was very disappointing. The hinted sexual tension between Tom Hanks and the heroine, shit I forgot the chick's name, was bordering pedophile creepiness. Eww.
All I liked about the film was the character Silas. A very effective not to mention disturbing representation of the whole Devout slash psychotic Catholic population. But I think he had red eyes in the book. Too bad the movie failed to captrue that tiny detail.
The puzzles were annoyingly simplified. There was not a hint of suspense. It was boring. Plus, very predictable. If you aren't a history buff and by no means would be able to connect the references and allusions to the history of the doctrines of Christiniaty, then I assure you that you would be bored out of your mind. It was ridiculous.
And the ending? Crapfest. Turns out that the heroine is the last descendant of Jesus. So...? I failed to capture the relevance of that revalation. I was opting for more of an Antichrist-ish finale. But of course, that wasn't the case.
I was expecting the movie to be something like Mindhunters, in terms of the puzzles, clues and interpretation of Da Vinci's work... but what I got was a retarded rip-off of Sesame Street. Bull.
IT WAS ALL HYPE!! Stupid movie cost me 100 bucks. What a waste.
So there's a lesson in all this: always READ the book first. It would've helped me understand the movie better.
